Messi breaks another scoring record in the Champions League; Barcelona advances

Barcelona advances to the quarter finals of the Champions League led by wonder forward Lionel Messi. Along with helping his team advance to the next stage of the competition, Messi adds another record to his storied career by scoring the most amount of goals, with five (5), by a single player in a Champions League match.

Barcelona beat out Bayer Leverkusen today 7-1 to eliminate them from the European competition with an aggregate score of 10-2. “La Pulga” further cements himself in the history books of European football and the hearts of fans with a beautiful display of what he is capable of.

Messi scored at the 25th,42nd, 49th, 58th & 84th minute. These five goals gave him a total of 49 goals in the UEFA Champions League (formerly known as the European Cup), tying Alfredo DiStefano as the 6th top scorer in the history of the competition.
