Following Louis C.K.’s grassroots efforts in December of 2011 for releasing his own comedy special, Live At The Beacon, for the same price that Ansari is currently selling his for. Louis C.K.’s “direct comedy” approach was very well-received, selling over 110,000 within the first 3 days of its release and eventually grossed over $1 million after just 10 days. After reimbursing the production company for the production of the special and paying his crew, C.K. gave away about $280,000 to charities.
